Detroit, the city known for innovative producers and ground-breaking music, is pleased to introduce to the world its newest independent record label, Whasdat Music. Established by Pirahnahead, Whasdat has the potential to deliver all of the elements of ìan electronic Motown soundî. This initial offering, 'Sunshine (Give Me Peace)' showcases the musicianship of Pirahnahead and DJ Minx while providing a soulfully complimentary backdrop for vocalist Carolyn Victorian (POJI Records, King Street Sounds). The Original mix (written by Diviniti, Pirahnahead and Carolyn Victorian) uses the bass line to drive the pace and supplies the perfect accompaniment for the powerful vocal expression of Carolyn Victorian. The spiritual and uplifting message shimmers through layers of organs, keyboards, and poignant drum programming, as well as lush background harmonies supplied by Diviniti. Minxís Queen Beats remix stays on the soul laced vibe with more of an electro-core. Funky beats and dub-style inflections driven by her signature Women On Wax bass lines perfectly punctuate Minxís interpretation of the original song. Sunshine Bonus Beats, the final part of the 12 inch, provides the beats from the original mix of Sunshine and leaves plenty to the imagination of any DJ who has this offering in their crate.
